We're excited to share with you our new photoshoot of our Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport at 1:8 scale. These fantastic new images of our model in Black Carbon with orange interior, fully exhibit the intricate detailing of the grills, the extraordinary W16 engine, and the lustre of the chrome wheel rims. Our recreations of the Veyron’s roadster variant are limited to just 99 pieces, and the pictured model is available to order now. The Grand Sport was equipped with a transparent roof, taking the experience of open-top driving into a new dimension. The Veyron coupe had a unique structure that meant Bugatti couldn’t just remove the roof; they had to reengineer the passenger compartment monocoque to provide the reinforcement and rigidity required in a roadster. Consequently, the monocoque was reinforced along the sills and transmission tunnel. The monocoque and exterior of this extraordinary car are made entirely of carbon fibre.
With the roof up, the Grand Sport had the same 253mph (407km/h) top speed as the coupé. Pushing the technical limits of automotive engineering, the car, with its roof down, could still reach 223mph (360km/h).
