Bentley

Bentley Motors has been associated with motor racing from their very establishment in 1919. W.O. Bentley’s fast and dependable cars in the 1920s attracted the attention of a group of wealthy young men and women known as the Bentley Boys and Girls. They raced Bentleys at the gruelling 24 Hours of Le Mans and encouraged W.O., a racer himself, to push the limits of automotive engineering, resulting in an incredible five Le Mans victories in seven years, firmly establishing the marque’s place in history. The 1929 24 Hours of Le Mans was the most dominant display by a single manufacturer in the short history of the race as Bentley took the top four places which was a feat that would not be matched until 1957 by Jaguar. Bentley would go on to break Audi’s dominance in 2003 and win a sixth Le Mans title, 73 years to the day of their last victory.

Bentley have produced a number of iconic cars over the years, including the Speed Six of the late 1920s, the 8 litre of the 1930s, the T-Series of the 60s and 70s and the Continental, which has been seen in many iterations since the 1950s. Bentley continues to push the boundaries of automotive excellence with the world’s first luxury SUV, the Bentayga, and they now are on their own journey towards a range of all-electric vehicles, including the world’s first luxury production SUV, the Bentayga Hybrid.
