Amalgam were delighted to welcome Jon Moore to our workshop last week, who brought in his model of the ThrustSSC, the current land speed record holder, for repair. This model was actually built during the early years of Amalgam, before the model car business was established.
Jon 's brother worked as an engineer on the Thrust 1 land speed record project. Sadly, his brother passed away last year and Jon was befittingly gifted the model. He brought the model to Amalgam, as it had suffered some damage to the nosecone and rear wing and was in need of a generally good clean.
Modelshop Manager Nathan used his creative skillset to build and attach a new nosecone and repair the damage that time had made to the exterior paint. He gave the whole model a deep and thorough clean, ensuring the model looked brand new as it returned home.
