  • The electric formula race car designed for use as the base chassis by all 10 teams competing in the inaugural season of the zero-emission Formula E series, the Spark-Renault SRT_01E aimed to push the boundaries of what was achievable in electric motorsport. It was the result of a 10-month collaboration, designed and built by Spark Racing Technology, headed by the renowned Frédéric Vasseur, together with a consortium of leading manufacturers in motorsport. The car's monocoque chassis was constructed by Italian firm Dallara from carbon fibre and aluminium, and possessed aerodynamics sculpted to aid overtaking. McLaren Electronics Systems provided the electric motor, gearbox and electronics and Williams Advanced Engineering was responsible for the design and supply of the batteries and their management systems. Overseeing all the systems integration, performance optimisation and powertrain electrical safety was Formula E's Technical Partner Renault, whilst custom made 18-inch treaded tyres were created by Official Tyre Partner Michelin. The battery developed a maximum power of 200 kW, allowing a FIA limited top speed of 140 mph (225 km/h) and acceleration from 0–62 mph (0-100 km/h) in less than 3 seconds. The battery pack was big enough to provide power for 20–25 minutes but, as races were almost an hour long, the drivers had to swap one car for another halfway through the race.

This fine 1:8 scale model depicts the NEXTEV TCR Formula E Team’s Spark-Renault SRT_01E precisely as it was raced to Drivers' Championship victory in the London ePrix Race 2 on 28th June 2015 by Nelson Piquet Jnr, sealing him the inaugural 2015 FIA ABB Formula E Drivers’ Championship ahead of Team e.dams Renault’s Sébastien Buemi by a single point. In a highly competitive season, in which the top three drivers finished only eleven points apart, Piquet emerged victor after an eventful double header race weekend at Battersea Park. At the beginning of the weekend, Piquet Jnr. was 17 points clear of his closest rival Lucas di Grassi after winning his second race of the season in Moscow. Despite finishing fifth in London’s Race 1, Piquet’s lead was slashed to just five points after a stunning pole-to-flag victory by Buemi, whilst di Grassi also outscored him and remained only thirteen points behind.

Race 2 occurred on the Sunday and started in devastating fashion for Piquet. A rain-hit qualifying session only saw him succeed in gaining sixteenth on the grid, with his title rivals both ahead: Buemi in prime position in sixth, whilst di Grassi was eleventh. Piquet drove in a very determined fashion from start to finish, making up a lot of places thanks to a very aggressive strategy. His courage was rewarded with seventh place. Di Grassi finished a single position up the road, not enough to overhaul the gap from third, whilst Buemi was punished for a spin shortly after his pit stop. The mistake meant Bruno Senna got ahead of him to finish fourth, giving Piquet the maiden title by a single point in front of over 25,000 spectators. Piquet’s triumph marked a moment in history, not only for Formula E but for China, as NEXTEV TCR became the first Chinese team to produce the champion in an FIA series. Despite Piquet winning the championship, NEXTEV TCR only finished fourth in the Teams' Championship, as his teammates, of which there were four during the course of the 11 races (Ho-Pin Tung, Antonio García, Charles Pic and Oliver Turvey), only added 8 points, the team scoring 152 points in total.

    IMPORTANT NOTE:
    • A PAYMENT AUTHORISATION FOR THE OUTSTANDING AMOUNT OF YOUR PURCHASE WILL BE HELD DURING THE FULL PLAN PERIOD as security. This hold will be charged ONLY in the event a monthly payment is declined (the authorisation hold might appear as "Pending" on your credit card bill).
    • You must maintain a sufficient "Required Available Credit" amount on your credit card for both the full outstanding amount of your purchase and the monthly payment during the full period of the plan.
    • Your credit card issuer may charge you interest on amounts charged to your credit card unless you pay Your credit card balance in full each month.
    • In case we do not manage to reauthorize the remaining amount of the transaction, you will receive a notice email. In that case, you will have to promptly update your credit card details. In case your bank still refuses to reauthorize the outstanding amount, we will have to charge the full outstanding amount of the transaction at once from your credit card.
Splitit offers you a flexible way of paying for items in instalments, completely interest-free, by reserving the available line of credit on your credit card. Then, each month, according to your payment plan, Splitit collects the instalment amount and reissues the authorisation request for the remaining balance.

It is important to note that payments are still charged on your existing credit card. Splitit simply provides you the method to do this and information about the instalments. Here is an example of how the service works for a customer buying a £2,000 model in 4 instalments of £500 each:

Splitit obtains authorisation from the credit card company for the full purchase amount of £2,000. This is not a charge on the card; it is simply reserving £2,000 from the customer’s line of credit.
    - The credit card company then charges the customer £500 for the first payment.
    - During the second month, Splitit requests authorisation for the outstanding purchase amount of £1,500, and charges the customer the second installment of £500.
    - This authorisation and charge process continues until the full £2,000 is collected - in this case, for 4 months.
No, this is an interest-free payment method with no additional fixed fees, service fees, interest or hidden fees of any kind.
No, your item will be processed after the first initial instalment and delivered as normal upon passing our Quality Control check at Head Office.
    - You can pay using Splitit with a valid Mastercard or Visa
Nothing, no credit check is required if you use a Splitit instalment plan and there is no impact on your credit score. All the bank sees is the individual instalment charges each month. If one of your payment authorisations is declined, there is still no affect on your credit rating; it is simply a declined charge. The denial would simply accelerate payment of the remaining balance (unless you provide a different card which was not denied).
You can pay using Splitit with a Mastercard or Visa. Debit cards, American Express and pre-paid cards are not accepted.
The instalments appear on your statement as individual charge items with the name of 'Amalgam Collection'. These payments will appear monthly according to your instalment plan, with the same charge amount each time.
