Bristol UK – 18th September 2024: Amalgam Collection, the distinguished name in luxury model cars, has created the perfect accessory for expectant owners and enthusiasts of the Ferrari 12Cilindri; a perfect handcrafted scale model.

Working closely with the Ferrari design and engineering team, over 3,000 hours were spent developing the models under the watchful eye of the team in Maranello ensuring meticulous accuracy like no other model. Each 1:8 scale Amalgam model takes over 300 hours to hand assemble by a small team of expert model artists and craftspeople.

Only 199 of the Coupe and 199 of the Spider 1:8 scale models will be made, along with one-off bespoke models being created to the exact owner and enthusiast-specification, paying homage to Ferrari’s new 12-cylinder supercar GT, which marks 70 years of Ferrari in the American market.

Placing an order with the Bristol-based Amalgam Collection over the next month may mean you take delivery of the scale model before the production vehicle, expected early in 2025.

The limited-edition 1:8 and 1:18 models are finished in striking Rosso Imola with a Blu Sterling interior. Crafted for the true connoisseur, they measure 59 cm (23 inches) long and 26 cm (10 inches) long respectively, but the passion and attention to detail behind it is immeasurable.

Revealed in May 2024, Maranello’s new two-seater Berlinetta, powered by a mid-front-mounted, naturally-aspirated V12, set hearts racing worldwide. As the press reported on the latest Prancing Horse line-up, Amalgam Collection had begun development.

Using only the finest quality materials, each model comprises thousands of precisely engineered parts, including castings, photo-etchings, and CNC-machined metal components. Every detail, from the car's aerodynamic silhouette to its luxurious interior, has been recreated with absolute fidelity using original CAD designs, paint codes, and material specifications from Ferrari.

HOW AMALGAM MODELS ARE CREATED

  • The patterns are created using original CAD from the manufacturer, or extraordinarily accurate digital scans and hundreds of photographs of an original classic car.
  • The patterns are used to create silicon rubber moulds that capture every detail.
  • Prototyping resin is used to cast the parts from the silicon moulds. Around 20 to 30 parts can be cast from each mould and then a new one must be made.
  • Each model is built from thousands of parts: castings, photo-etchings and CNC machined metal components. 
  • Genuine car paints and manufacturer or archive colour references are used to spray the bodywork.
  • It takes between 2,500 and 4,500 hours to develop the tooling for each model.
  • It takes between 250 and 450 hours to cast, fit, fettle, paint and build each model.

Every Amalgam Fine Model Car is made entirely by hand from thousands of parts. Detailed original CAD data is supplied by the car's manufacturer or the race team of the car to be modelled. The process of developing each model and creating the master patterns takes between 2,500 and 4,500 hours of skilled work depending on the complexity of the car, with classic cars taking the longest.

In the case of the classic cars an extremely accurate digital scan is made of the car, and hundreds of photographs of all the details of a carefully selected original car are taken, to ensure complete accuracy and adherence to the authentic finishes and materials. Many parts of the model are machined from metal with the major components hand cast from prototyping resin. Each model is individually assembled by a small team of highly skilled model-makers. In total the time taken to machine, cast, hand fettle, paint, polish and assemble each model is between 250 and 450 hours of highly skilled work depending on the complexity of the car.

The finished model is a very precise scale replica of the original car with every detail perfectly and authentically represented at an 8th of the original size. This is modelling elevated to such a high level that it becomes an art form.

- During the second month, Splitit requests authorisation for the outstanding purchase amount of £1,500, and charges the customer the second installment of £500.
- This authorisation and charge process continues until the full £2,000 is collected - in this case, for 4 months.

Nothing, no credit check is required if you use a Splitit instalment plan and there is no impact on your credit score. All the bank sees is the individual instalment charges each month. If one of your payment authorisations is declined, there is still no affect on your credit rating; it is simply a declined charge.
