Models back in stock at at 1:18 scale
The most recent batch of the iconic McLaren MP4/4 at 1:18 scale has been completed and we are now accepting orders with a view to dispatch in June. This fine model perfectly replicates the McLaren MP4/4 as raced to victory by Ayrton Senna at the Formula 1 Japanese Grand prix in 1988, clinching his first Drivers’ Championship Title.
Measuring over 24 cms/9 inches long, our 1:18 scale model required over 800 hours of development.
Built using detailed CAD data and designs of the original car with the assistance of McLaren Racing.
Having completed just a handful of laps in the new 1988 MP4/4, Alain Prost reportedly told Team Principal Ron Dennis that he knew the car would win the World Championship. And so he was proved right, as the McLaren MP4/4, driven by Frenchman Prost and his newly signed Brazilian teammate Ayrton Senna, went down in the annals of Formula One history as the most dominant Formula 1 car of all time, with a win rate of 93.8%, a record that would stand for over 25 years.
