Our Finest Partnerships & Events - 2024 Highlights

Our Finest Collaborations

It was an extraordinary year for us, as we continue to create and extend partnerships with some of the most important events and the strongest automotive and luxury brands in the world. Our partnerships continued to position our models at the forefront of the automotive and luxury sectors, with some further exciting new developments and opportunities for 2025 in the pipeline with the likes of Alan Thornton, Aston Martin, Jaguar Land Rover and Ferrari, to name a few. Here are some of our outstanding moments of the year.

2024 at Amalgam Reviewed

RM Sotheby’s Dare to Dream Collection

In June, a large private assembly of 27 Amalgam models was auctioned for almost half a million dollars, as part of RM Sotheby’s Dare to Dream Collection. The astonishing assortment featured bespoke replicas of the Dare to Dream Garage’s McLaren P1 and Bugatti Veyron, a 2011 McLaren-Mercedes MP4-26 Formula 1 car and a full, extensive collection of Ralph Lauren models by Amalgam. There was particular interest in the Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic at 1:8 scale, which fetched a remarkable $43,000, setting a new company record for a Limited Edition model.

DriveTribe's Mike Fernie

In January, we welcomed DriveTribe's Mike Fernie and the Centric Creative video production team for their second visit to the Amalgam Collection workshop in Bristol, to get up close and personal to our latest offering of replica models. Mike and his crew truly captured the beauty, detail and craftmanship that goes into creating these masterpieces and took a detailed dive into our weathering process of the Ford GT40 at 1:8 scale with our Senior Model Maker, Toby Moir. The 21-minute video garnered nearly half a million views on YouTube.

Homo Faber Exhibition

We were proud to be present at the Homo Faber Exhibition in Venice in September for their celebration of contemporary craftsmanship. Under the visionary art direction of Luca Guadagnino and Nicolò Rosmarini, and curated by the esteemed Michelangelo Foundation, we exhibited two of our most iconic models: the breathtaking Ferrari 250 GTO and the legendary Maserati 250F.

Artist and photographer Alan Thornton

Our collaboration with artist and photographer Alan Thornton continues to grow, this year producing a new Fine Art Edition for the Ford GT40. Created in partnership with Ford and Gulf International, each Fine Art Print depicts a precise and vibrant side profile of the 24 Hours of Le Mans winning car driven by Jackie Ickx and Jackie Oliver in 1969. A new collaboration with a major British manufacturer is soon set to be revealed, so listen out for more news in 2025.

TASCHEN

A new partnership in 2024, our collaboration with luxury art book publisher TASCHEN to introduce three new automotive titles to our carefully curated collection of books: TASCHEN’S ‘Ultimate Collector Cars’ and ‘Ultimate Collector Motorcycles’.

Porter Press International

Meanwhile. our collaboration with Porter Press International continued to grow, with the new title 'Brawn GBP 001/02', focusing on the one-season wonder that was the Brawn GP Formula 1 team.

Robb Report and Ferrari

A special partnership between Amalgam, the Robb Report and Ferrari saw us offer a one-off version of the 2023 Le Mans winning Ferrari 499P at a special 1:4 scale, complete with internal and external lighting and a black-walnut display case with a remote control–activated artificial sky. The lucky buyer or recipient will also be Ferrari’s VIP guest at the next edition of Le Mans.

Mitch Payne

Our collaboration with photographer Mitch Payne bore rich fruit this year, resulting in a series of exotic composite images of our models. Captured in Mitch's East London Studio, his shoot showcases his dramatic signature style, often with an abstract injection of shape and colour. The phenomenal quality of our models shines through, challenging the viewer to differentiate model from reality.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
  • A PAYMENT AUTHORISATION FOR THE OUTSTANDING AMOUNT OF YOUR PURCHASE WILL BE HELD DURING THE FULL PLAN PERIOD as security. This hold will be charged ONLY in the event a monthly payment is declined (the authorisation hold might appear as "Pending" on your credit card bill).
  • You must maintain a sufficient "Required Available Credit" amount on your credit card for both the full outstanding amount of your purchase and the monthly payment during the full period of the plan.
  • Your credit card issuer may charge you interest on amounts charged to your credit card unless you pay Your credit card balance in full each month.
  • In case we do not manage to reauthorize the remaining amount of the transaction, you will receive a notice email. In that case, you will have to promptly update your credit card details. In case your bank still refuses to reauthorize the outstanding amount, we will have to charge the full outstanding amount of the transaction at once from your credit card.
Splitit offers you a flexible way of paying for items in instalments, completely interest-free, by reserving the available line of credit on your credit card. Then, each month, according to your payment plan, Splitit collects the instalment amount and reissues the authorisation request for the remaining balance.

It is important to note that payments are still charged on your existing credit card. Splitit simply provides you the method to do this and information about the instalments. Here is an example of how the service works for a customer buying a £2,000 model in 4 instalments of £500 each:

Splitit obtains authorisation from the credit card company for the full purchase amount of £2,000. This is not a charge on the card; it is simply reserving £2,000 from the customer’s line of credit.
- The credit card company then charges the customer £500 for the first payment.
- During the second month, Splitit requests authorisation for the outstanding purchase amount of £1,500, and charges the customer the second installment of £500.
- This authorisation and charge process continues until the full £2,000 is collected - in this case, for 4 months.
No, this is an interest-free payment method with no additional fixed fees, service fees, interest or hidden fees of any kind.
No, your item will be processed after the first initial instalment and delivered as normal upon passing our Quality Control check at Head Office.
- You can pay using Splitit with a valid Mastercard or Visa
Nothing, no credit check is required if you use a Splitit instalment plan and there is no impact on your credit score. All the bank sees is the individual instalment charges each month. If one of your payment authorisations is declined, there is still no affect on your credit rating; it is simply a declined charge. The denial would simply accelerate payment of the remaining balance (unless you provide a different card which was not denied).
You can pay using Splitit with a Mastercard or Visa. Debit cards, American Express and pre-paid cards are not accepted.
The instalments appear on your statement as individual charge items with the name of 'Amalgam Collection'. These payments will appear monthly according to your instalment plan, with the same charge amount each time.
