Fine models now available to order
Our first batch of 1:18 scale D-type replicas is nearing completion. The model captures the chassis XKD 605 as it was raced to victory by Duncan Hamilton and Ivor Bueb in the 12 Hours of Reims at Reims-Gueux on the 30th of June 1956. We are accepting orders now, with a view to dispatch models in May.
Each model measures over 22 cms/8 inches long and is finished in the iconic British Racing Green livery.
The model has been developed from a precise digital scan of an original Jaguar XKD.
Designed specifically to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the beautiful and curvaceous D-type was thoroughly successful in its mission, becoming one of the most dominant Le Mans cars in history. Victorious in three of the four years it competed, and only narrowly missing out in fourth, the D-type inspired the legendary E-type road car and eventually became the road-going XKSS.
