In Development: The Ferrari F1-89

Models now in development at 1:18 scale

We’re excited to announce that we have been developing the Ferrari F1-89 at 1:18 scale, precisely replicating the car as raced by Nigel Mansell and Gerhard Berger during the XL11 Shell British Grand Prix at Silverstone on the 16th of July 1989. Development is nearing its end, and we anticipate approval from Ferrari in the coming weeks, with our first complete batch of models scheduled for completion in time for the holiday season. We invite you to register your interest to be among the first to know when these fine models will become available to order on our website.

Ferrari F1-89 at 1:18 scale

The F1-89 (also known as the 640, its designated project number) was Ferrari’s entry into the 1989 FIA Formula One World Championship. Driven by future World Champion Nigel Mansell and Gerhard Berger, the F1-89 was a leader on outright pace alone. However, the reliability of its innovative semi-automatic gearbox soon proved to be the major concern, ultimately damaging the Scuderia's charge for the Championship. And yet when the F1-89 reached the chequered flag, it never failed to finish on the podium. It's three wins and six further podiums earning Ferrari 59 points and claiming third place in the Constructors' Championship behind McLaren and Williams.
