The Jewel in the Formula 1 Crown
Predating even Formula 1's long and illustrious history as a World Championship, the Monaco Grand Prix has been running since 1929. With its narrow streets, tight corners, and pronounced elevation changes, it's considered to be the ultimate test of driving skills in the calendar. Over the past 28 years we have captured some of Monaco's greatest racing moments in perfect detail.
McLaren MCL35M
As raced by Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo in 2021 in an evocative retro livery celebrating the deep-rooted and successful racing partnership between McLaren Racing and official partners Gulf Oil International. Norris would put in a performance worthy of the livery, holding off a superior Red Bull to achieve his third career podium. Models are available at 1:8 and 1:18 scale.
Ferrari SF21
Charles Leclerc would display the sheer pace of the Ferrari by claiming pole position, but only after ending the session early in the barrier and bringing out the red flags. The Monegasque driver would not start at his home race due to unforeseen driveshaft damage. Carlos Sainz however, starting fourth, would at least claim second place. Leclerc models are available at 1:8 scale.
Lotus 49B
In 1968, Graham Hill qualified his Lotus 49B on pole and survived an incident-packed race that saw only five cars reach the chequered flag, taking his fourth win in the principality. Hill would go on to win his second World Championship by the end of the season whilst Lotus would win their third Constructors’ title. Models are available at 1:8 scale.
Ferrari 312 T2
Niki Lauda dominated in 1976, qualifying 0.26 seconds ahead of his teammate Clay Regazzoni and claiming his Monaco second victory by an impressive 11 second margin. His success increased his championship lead to 36 points, a daunting total after just six races. Little did anyone know the drama that would unfold in the remaining ten.

In 1961, Richie Ginther, Phil Hill and Wolfgang von Trips would finish 2-3-4 on the streets of Monte Carlo in the debut race for the Ferrari 156 F1 'Sharknose' , beaten only by the brilliant racecraft of a certain Stirling Moss. Models of the cars driven by Hill and Von Trips are available at 1:8 scale.
Alfa Romeo 'Monza'
Alfa Romeo's first Monaco Grand Prix was a memorable one: Tazio Nuvolari, eleventh on the grid after the pre-race ballot, passed seven cars within the first five laps on his way to a race victory that saw him and Alfa Romeo as the first Italians to win the Monaco Grand Prix. Models at 1:8 scale are available.
