Bentley Blower

Bentley Blower

Driven by Sir Henry Birkin and Jean Chassagne in 1930, the #9 was involved in an epic duel with fellow Bentley Blower racers Dr Dudley Benjafield and Giulio Ramponi and the Rudolf Caracciola and Christian Werner piloted Mercedes-Benz SSK. Despite five separate tyre failures, the duo hassled the SSK to retirement, before eventually retiring the car themselves with a broken conrod. Birkin, in particular, is considered to have embodied the true spirit of the Vintage Racing era and widely considered the very reason Bentley ultimately emerged victorious with the Speed Six of Woolf Barnato and Glen Kidston. Models of this exquisite car at 1:8 scale are currently available to order.

Ferrari 375 Plus

Ferrari 375 Plus

In 1954, the Ferrari 375 Plus was raced to victory in its debut race at Le Mans, expertly driven by José Froilán González and Maurice Trintignant in a rain-affected thriller viewed by many as a battle between brute force and science. An exhausted González reached the chequered flag to win by just under three minutes ahead of Jaguar D-type of Tony Rolt & Duncan Hamilton, the closest finish for the race since 1933. Models of the car at 1:8 scale are available to order on our website.

Bugatti EB110

Bugatti EB110

In 1994, the Bugatti EB110 LM made its debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, marking the French brand's return to the iconic racing event after a 55-year hiatus, with an all-French driver line up in Alain Cudini, Le Mans winner Éric Hélary and Jean-Christophe Bouillon. Although the team faced technical issues and retired from the race, when a tyre blowout threw the Bouillon into the barriers on the Mulsanne Straight, Bugatti's bold comeback attempt sent a message that the marque was back, and ready to take on the best.
