Charles has raced with great success so far this season, with two race victories and seven further podiums in the 17 races so far this season. Back in May, he became the first Monegasque driver to win his home Grand Prix in Monaco in Formula 1 history, and the only the second to ever win the prestigious race since Louis Chiron in 1931. At the start of September, he also claimed Ferrari's first home victory at Monza since his own victory five years prior in front of a very charged and jubilant crowd of Tifosi. These wins, in line with his consistency across the rest of the season, has ensured he is still in contention in what is becoming an increasingly competitive Drivers' Championship.
